As I have been writing out the 31 Days of Grace verses onto my flip cards, that song "Amazing Grace" has been running through my mind. I took advantage of a rainy afternoon to #biblequilt a page on it.
I pulled out one of the Music Trio templates for a quick jumpstart on a music backdrop. I used one formatted for a 7 x 10 journal, but attached it into my 8.5 x 11 Monthly BQJ so I'd have extra space in the margin to add verses.
Since we sang "Amazing Grace" at church a couple weeks ago, I had the lyrics already in printed form from a bulletin. I cut the stanzas apart and brushed the edges lightly with an ink pad to give them a little color, adding contrast against the white page.
I searched for some verses on a few of the key phrases, stitching them around the page and used some "grace" stickers I had available from another project to balance it out.
To add color to a fairly neutral page, I used some patriotic embellishments I had out for Memorial Day, then shaded in the background of the music staff with colored pencils. As a unifying touch, I did a simple cross-hatching technique with a gold gel pen to fill in the remaining white space.
If you have access to an old hymnal that has this song in it, so you could use that as a great page starter, too. Please share in the Comments below or in the FB group if you do one!
"...but God, who called me here below, will be forever mine...You are forever mine."
