Where do your thoughts dwell?
Who or what is your dwelling place?
In times of stress we tend to run to our "default" place for comfort, don't we?
Reading through several different scripture passages this morning for a Bible study, I was again struck by the EVER PRESENCE of God. He is our refuge (Deuteronomy 33:27) and our sanctuary (Ezekiel 11:16).
Then I was impacted by the realization of the mutuality of this sheltering process.
Yes, he's always there for us with his unfailing love and protection, but we have to COME to Him. We have to ENTER IN to His Presence to be able to soak up the benefits of being IN His dwelling place.
She "who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust." Psalm 91:1-2
If you're feeling soul-weary, this reassurance might be a sweet reminder to you today as it was for me.
"He will cover you with his feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." Psalm 91:4
