Our country is undergoing a tremendous transition of leadership this week. Now more than ever we need to be unified in our prayers for the health and healing of our nation.
This theme of UNITY has been swirling in my mind since the insurrection at the capitol last week.
I'm not getting political; I'm getting prayerful.
To set up my page, I used this handy gadget my husband gifted me for my birthday. It has metal discs that can be adjusted to create circular stencils of various sizes.
Since the flag is such a symbolic inspiration of freedom and courage, I chose to use a loose representation of it as a background.
Then I got to harvesting verses related to unity, harmony, and getting along together in peace.
"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace
and mutual edification." Romans 14:19
I didn't want to overshadow the influence of Red, White, & Blue so I used metallic highlights with gold and silver gel pens to highlight key words. I added some patriotic washi tape to embellish the edges as a finishing touch on this page in my Monthly Bible Quilt Journal.
These are unifying principles that can apply to marriage, families, and church congregations. It will be a useful page to refer to in a variety of settings. Yet this week, I'll be devoting it prayerfully to our nation's need for unity.
Let us "live in harmony with one another." Romans 12:16
