Are you feeling a little lost, lonely, or forlorn these days?
Even in our darkest hours, when the despair of the world falls upon us, we are NOT alone.
Our Great Shepherd is always there, seeking us out and ready to comfort us in our trials.
Alice created this cute little Sheep template that gives us a page to create with verses about our Great Shepherd.
After I glued the template onto my Bible Quilt Journal page, I started by shading the background to make some green pasture for my little flock of sheep.
I cut out a signpost from brown card stock for the Psalm 23:1 verse "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want" and began harvesting verses on sheep and shepherds.
I glued the signpost down on the page in the shape of a cross and added background color to my verses. Then I took some time to reflect on what I wanted the sheep to represent.
I decided to label these wayward sheep in terms of our human nature... lost, astray, sinful, condemned, dead in our trespasses. We are all in need of a redemptive Savior, aren't we?
I outlined the sheep and added some woolly swirls. I even depicted a "black sheep" - representing the common phrase describing the most disreputable member of a group or family. Our Great Shepherd cares about this one, too!
Here's how Alice did her page:
Can't wait to see what y'all do with this cute Sheep template! Please share in the comments below and/or in the Bible Quilt Journal Facebook group.
