I stumbled upon this site while watching a live video Joy Howard was doing on her Bible Journaling for Beginners Facebook group and I am so excited to have found this. I am very new to Bible journaling and still trying to figure everything out. I am a scrapbooker so I know this is just switching gears some. I am excited to be here and be a part of this group. I can't wait to dive in and get to know everyone.
I have been married for 26 years and we have a 16 year old daughter who just got her drivers license and officially drove by herself this morning for the first time. We live in Daytona Beach. My husband is a southern baptist pastor at a small church. We have been here for almost 6 years. I am a teacher at a local Christian school. I teach 9-12 grade students in an independent learning environment. I love my job and work with 3 of my best friends. God has really blessed to be able to work with them.
Welcome, Leah! Thanks for such a lovely introduction. 🌻 Oh, and once you get past that initial "release" of a teen driver, you WILL LOVE IT! How wonderful that you get to work with your best friends...maybe you can create a little Bible Quilt group with them? There's a small group of friends that just started together in Alabama and I love their sweet updates and quilt-y craftiness as they use actual quilt patterns on their pages!
If you've got a scrapbooking background, you'll be able to incorporate a lot of the same elements and resources. I've had a lot of women tell me they're digging out supplies they haven't used in years and putting them to good use! I'd encourage you to browse around in the "getting started" section and maybe read the post, https://www.biblequiltjournal.com/post/how-do-i-start-a-biblequiltjournal-page, to help you walk through the process. Templates can be a good route for beginners, too, because you just have to focus on selecting your verses and plugging them in rather than figuring out structure/format. Take your time and allow the Lord to direct your BQ journey. Let me know if I can help out from afar! Blessings 🙏 di
