With the recent widespread snowfall, most of us have gotten a hefty dose of wintry cold air and all the slushy mess that comes along with it.
What do you like to do after being out with the kids romping in the snow or taking your dog for a sludgy walk?
We like to peel off all the drippy protective gear and warm up by the fire with a favorite beverage.
There's just something extra cozy about shifting from the harsh winter elements into a comfy circle around the fireplace, isn't there?
The contrast is often very striking to our senses, heightening our awareness of the marvelous way our bodies adapt to changes and connecting us as we experience these transitions together.
That's the feeling I was trying to capture with the Home Fireplace template - - - that cozy connection we have with God when we snuggle up with the Word and join Him in prayer.
I started my page out by coloring in the elements on the page, contemplating some of the Abiding verses we're focusing on this month.
I used some book washi tape in the background to represent our family's love of reading, then added some stickers to give it a homey feel with some textured layers.
I highlighted one of the verses on card stock to give it a framed effect on the background wall, then I went searching for other scriptures to add to the page.
I'm debating about adding some background color, but have learned to wait in order to let the page "settle." I can always add more details later when I get fresh ideas for a page.
Ha! You never know when inspiration will strike! As I was putting my supplies away, I found some animal stickers and added this little doggy to my scene in honor of my Katie and the extra "cozy" she adds to our home.

I enjoyed seeing what you have done with that cozy home template. I am still working on January's and just came up with a theme for January in February. LOL
