What's not to like in that title, "Apple Cider Doughnut Cake?"
Several years ago my son and I visited an apple orchard in the Northeast. Our grand finale of experiences there was purchasing a few apple cider doughnuts to nibble on as we continued our road trip. They were SO delicious!
With such fond memories of that perfect fall snack, I knew I had to try this recipe from Princess Pinky Girl for Apple Cider Doughnut Cake.
It was such a delightful addition to my youngest son's Homecoming dinner with friends!
The recipe comes with an "optional" dipping glaze. We were all in unanimous agreement that it should not be optional. Drizzled over a warm slice of the cake, the apple cider flavor really comes through.
Sorry I don't have any photos of the drizzled goodness... the slices didn't linger long. 😋
