How blessed we are to live in a country where we can enjoy so many freedoms!
As I was reflecting on our country's heritage of rights and freedoms, I kept thinking of the patriotic songs we sang back in elementary school.
"My country 'tis of Thee"
"America the Beautiful"
I poked around in my stash of old hymnals to see if I could find a patriotic song of freedom.
I discovered one called "O Beautiful, My Country" that had some great phrases in it. I removed the page from the hymnal, tearing around the lyrics and gluing the pieces onto the background of the Flying Flag template.
Next I began adding scriptures, using each fold of the flag as a quilt square.
Then I added finishing touches of patriotic washi tape and some music stickers.
The completed BQJ page can be displayed as part of our family's holiday decor, reminding us of the beautiful freedoms the Lord provides.
