I appreciate how collaborative our Bible Quilting community is, don't you?
Last week at our BQ session, Mary Jo shared a template she was working on based on a devotional she had recently read.
She basically illustrated the main points of a descriptive paragraph in a devotional by Rick Warren, Get a Grip on God's Word. She had already created her design and typed in her selected verses when she came to my house, so she was able to spend her time with us decorating the page with her chosen color palette.
Didn't it turn out great??
Since this template dovetailed so nicely with my topic of Learning this month, I decided to add it to one of my blank pages in my Monthly BQJ.
I added a banner around the title, shading it in with a complementary color to the books of the Bible washi tape I'd added as a border.( Old Testament washj New Testament washi)
I harvested scriptures on the keywords, added some stitch lines and a few stickers to reinforce the concept of opening our Bibles.
Lastly, I added a little bling as a sparkly bracelet to personalize it.
Ready to try it? I made a combo set, with and without the typed verses, so you can choose which version you'd like to do:
What devotional are you currently reading?
Keep an eye out for a concept that might spark a template idea for you.
Browse the shop to see if we've got a template that aligns with your devo material. If not, send me a message and we can collaborate on a new design.
