August is here and the countdown is on to squeeze in the last few weeks of summer fun! 🌞
All the changes that families go through to prepare for a fresh school year, including new sports/extracurriculars, schedules can be a daunting task.
Sometimes these time pressures churn up tensions within the family dynamics and we find ourselves seeking harmony to regain our balance.
...put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14
Although I did a Harmony page on the ribbon template last year, I thought I'd enjoy doing a deeper dive into the topic this year.
I curated a list of scriptures and formatted them into a set of flip cards to share with you. Ready to tune in with me to build up a little more harmony during this busy month??
In the Monthly Bible Quilt Journal, the featured template is the School Lunchbag. I started by coloring in the elements and adding a colorful washi tape border.
Inspired by some washi tape I had available with me on a trip, I made the banner say "Make Today Beautiful" and wrote a reminder by the lunch bag to "pack Jesus along with you!"
We can also personalize prayer pages for our kids/grandkids. You may want to pray specifically for building friendships, facing particular challenges, or encouraging first-year college students.
Here's a sample I did for my son a couple years ago, using the ABC Prayers template.
Let's not forget our teachers who are busy preparing lesson plans and setting up their classrooms for the new batch of students they'll be teaching this year. Our administrators and support staff benefit from our prayer support as well.
Let's pray for a harmonious environment all around!
A topic that aligns well with harmony is unity. In fact, when I was searching for verses I found several that would work for both topics. You could develop a page geared toward praying over our nation's unity, especially during the election season.
Join us next week on the #zoomchat to share your ideas for back-to-school harmony and national unity!
