Forgiveness

Even though saying "I'm sorry," is something we were all coached on in our elementary years, it is still hard to do consistently, isn't it?

Years ago I did this #biblequiltjournal page on forgiveness when I was inspired by a cute greeting card.

Since then I haven't done anything else on this topic, so I thought I'd dig a little deeper with some daily verses for the month of October.

You're welcome to join me using the reference list I curated.

"Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:31-32

I'm struck by the reciprocity of forgiveness - the mutual give and take as we navigate our interactions with others. Scriptures remind us of how this was modeled for us by God the Father through His Son.

And, of course, we know how God works. He plops things into our daily lives to nudge us along to focus on a different aspect of our Christian walk.

I hadn't thought to search out any podcasts or videos on #forgiveness, yet one poppped into my feed after my workout video ended the other day. This may provide you with some content to mull over.

I also rediscovered this sketch in my template stash that I friend had shared with me a while back. This cute 'lil car can be used for a variety of topics, including forgiveness.

Forgiven template - car

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6: 9-15

Yes, and Amen.
