We've had several newcomers join our BQ community recently, so I thought it would be a good time to review some basic techniques in our process of Bible Quilting.
Templates are formatted designs to help us illustrate topics in our BQ journals. Some are printed directly into the journals and most are available as individual printables in the online shop.
Blank spaces ("quilt blocks") are available on the templates to handwrite scriptures while other design elements are simply ready to color or embellish.
FAQ: "How do you add a template to a BQ journal?"
Here are several examples, demonstrating a variety of BQ versions.
Adding a template into an Original Bible Quilt Journal:
Sometimes you may want to do a full border of washi tape while on other pages you may choose just to do 1-2 sides. Your choice!
Double pages
Here's an example of adding a 2-page spread to a Monthly BQJ. This video is longer and shows you the whole process of adding scripture as well as how to make a colorful background using pastel gelatos.
Let's go VERTICAL!
This next video demonstrates how to attach templates to a vertical journal such as the BQ Notes as well as adding a tab tucked underneath the template for increased durability.
I hope these videoclips provide you with increased confidence to attach printed templates to your BQ journals. We've got hundreds of templates in the online shop to help you get started with a formatted design, so you can browse for inspiration!
