The Music Notes template is our featured template for July in the Monthly Bible Quilt Journal. Here's a peek at how I created mine using our focus on Psalms this month.
To get started, I lightly brushed the wavy stitch lines with gelatos and blended them softly. I'm using some patriotic colors to go along with the "flavor" of July.
I added a verse in the top lefthand corner, using click-together stamps for the word PRAISE so I can repeat it consistently throughout the page.
Next I grabbed my music #washitape and cut/tore it to fill in the printed music notes on the page.
Then I began adding more verses, stamping PRAISE and plucking down some music #stickers as simple embellishments.
Once I had all the verses written in, I filled in some of the white space with soft gelatos and additional stitch lines.
Since the space on this template is already divided with the wavy stitch lines, my page came together quickly. You could certainly add more verses, but I like the simplicity of a few scriptures to balance out the musical feel of the page.
I'll have a hymns & music station set up for our BQJ "Christmas in July" Open House this weekend. Come create a page with us!!
