Women of the Word Bible Quilt® Journal: Dinah

Some female characters in our Bible readings have tragic stories, yet are meaningful for the broader storyline of the Israelites.
Dinah
Dinah was the sister of twelve brothers who happened to be the future leaders of the Tribes of Israel. She had a unique experience as she traveled the nomadic lifestyle as the only daughter of Jacob and Leah (who had her own complicated story).
I selected a pastel sheet of card stock, added washi tape to the top of the page, then punched it with a Happy Planner punch to insert it into my disc-bound Women of the Word Bible Quilt Journal.
Since Dinah's story is contained in the 34th chapter of Genesis, I looked it up digitally to see how long it was. With some experimentation I was able to format it to fit one one page, so I decided to print it out on the back of my #biblequiltjournal page.
This printed passage allows me to highlight key characters while seeing the whole chapter at once. I'll continue to make notes on the front side of the page as I learn more about Dinah.

Setting up your own BQJ pages
This set of templates with generic female figures can help you get started on pages about Women of the Bible. As seen above, you can experiment with colored card stock to print out templates or to use as freestyle pages. This gives you instant background color so there's less coloring you need to do.
I've also made a set of tabs to use for many women named in the Bible.
Whether you're doing an independent reading, attending a Bible study focused on a character or a book of the Bible, these tabs can provide you with a quick way to categorize your BQ journal.
Attach these directly to your BQ page or use washi tape to add it to a page protector if you're using a 3-ring binder.
For loose BQJ pages, I often slip them into page protectors until I determine which BQ journal they're going in. By placing them into a 3-ring binder, I have flexibility to move pages around until I've determined the sequence I'd like to use for these character summaries in my Bible Quilt Journal.
Another option is to use a Happy planner punch system and build your journal over time.
I've developed a journal specifcally on this genre, Women of the Bible, as I do this unique type scripture writing. I invite you to follow along with us to personalize your own devotional resource!
