Women of the Word Bible Quilt® Journal: Rebekah

Writer: DiannaDianna

Rebekah's story is one of courage and faith with some scheming twists along the way, so I wanted to capture her journey in my Women of the Word BQ Journal.

Using the Praying Hands template for Rebekah's story

I opted for yellow colored card stock with the Praying Hands template printed on it. I placed a strip of washi tape on both sides of the top edge of the page and punched it so I could insert it into my Women of the Word BQ Journal, a disc-bound system that allows me to add more pages or to move them around as needed.

I didn't have the well template designed at the time I was summarizing Rebekah's storyline, but you could consider it as an illustration for her story.

Incorporating Another Perspective into your BQJ Pages

Recently I listened to a lesson about Rebekah as part of the Women of the Word Bible Journaling Conference. To help illustrate the back side of the existing Rebekah page, I utilzed some printables offered from the speaker, Tammy.

I wrote in the main points from Genesis 27 and will use the remainder of the page for notes from various sources, dividing them with various stitch lines to create quilt blocks.

Once again we're seeing how a woman chooses to take "control" of a situation in her own hands and suffers brokenness within her family as a result. These flawed characters have much to teach us as we struggle with our own decisions.
